ABOUT REBECCA BRIE

Rebecca Brie is a Los Angeles based artist whose work incorporates a combination of mixed media pieces and original designs. A native of LA, Rebecca grew up with a love of fashion and the arts from a very young age, taking art classes throughout school at Immaculate Heart High School, and supplemental classes at Otis College of Art and Design, and Barndsall Art Park.

Rebecca attended New York University where she graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Mass Media Communications, after which she returned to Los Angeles and worked as a fashion stylist, working with notable clients in the fashion, entertainment, sports and art worlds. She completed a Post Baccalaureate Fashion design program at The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). During this program, Rebecca learned both the technical and theoretical process involved in creating a collection from some of the art and fashion community’s most renowned educators, including artist Nick Cave and designer Katrin Schnabel.

Rebecca floats freely between both the fashion and art worlds creating colorful collages, interiors, and designs. Her work is often playful and quirky while maintaining a strong message of social justice and inclusion. Her recent collections honor abolitionist Harriet Tubman in the form of wearable art and home decor, and her Black Nutcracker collection reimagines the classic ballet production from the lens of a black ballerina.

Rebecca currently splits her time between Los Angles and Kingston, Jamaica.
